On August 14th I bought a red delicious apple from the supermarket as a present for Hubby ... it's his favorite. But .... after a few days and it was still sitting and I was looking for lunch to take to work.... I snatched the apple.
That same day as luck would have it before I got a chance to replace it.... he asked where his apple went off to.
So I saved the 6 seeds. And put them in a damp towel and then in a zip lock bag and filled it with air and put them in the fridge. 3 days later I scratched the seeds with my craft knife and put them back in the fridge. And 5 days after that the cover of the seeds were soft enough to pull off completely revealing the white seed and back in the fridge. I came back to check up on them 11 days later and all 6 had germinated. WOW! Amazing success!
Check out the picture below.
I potted them up ... very pleased. I can wait for April :)... gonna baby these guys till then :)
